The San Diego Interfaith Disaster Council (IDC) identifies and coordinate with faith-based organizations and their resources in San Diego County, to determine core competencies and, in cooperation with governmental and community-based organizations, facilitates and coordinates a collaborative plan to prepare for and respond to disasters.
Our mission is to establish and maintain a coordinated faith-based preparedness and response to disasters in San Diego County.
Our objectives for effective coordination of faith-based response to disasters in San Diego County include:
- Encouraging personal preparedness,
- Assisting individual faith communities with organizational disaster preparedness,
- Coordinating with faith communities to respond to disasters throughout San Diego County, and
- Working with the San Diego County Office of Emergency Services (“OES”).
